As an online e-commerce flooring company, we try to keep up with what people are seeing when they google different flooring types. One day we stumbled across a blog post talking about a floating DIY vinyl floor installation. We left a comment on the blog post and one thing led to another...

Choosing the Floor

So it turns out the Welcome to the Wood's household was renovating a very old house and needed a new floor and we had some discussions about their needs and what would work best for them. We were concerned about a potential DIY of a glue down vinyl, as the glued down versions of luxury vinyl just are not as easy to put in as the floating floors are. They really wanted a glue down floor due to the unlevelness issues of the old house and they wanted to avoid the classic floating floor "spongy spots" caused by dips in the subfloor.

Hiring an Installation Team

We at Znet Flooring do think a DIY video would had been better for our brand, however we were please when we learned Melissa from Welcome to the Woods made the decision to hire the installation out to a professional team.

Not only do a lot of our customers DIY their flooring, but many also hire their own installers and save a lot of money both the installation and the materials. Hiring installers direct, rather than going through a middle man at a signifigant markup, is quite common among Znet customers.

A glue down vinyl installation is one we think should be done by someone a bit more experienced. When things go wrong during a glued vinyl installation, they are much more expensive and difficult to correct than it would be when compared to a floating floor. We do realize there is a fair amount of experience at "Welcome to the Woods", but they had a big task with that unlevel floor.
