Mohawk PrimeCoat is a topically applied modified acrylic floor primer used to treat dry, dusty or porous substrates for a better bonding surface and to help ensure proper adhesive bond. Mohawk PrimeCoat is recommended to prime porous or dry substrates before installations to provide a smooth, tack-free surface that will improve adhesive application. Use on concrete substrates to reduce surface pH from as high as 12.0 to an acceptable level of 9.0 or less. Mohawk PrimeCoat may also be used to prime gypcrete surfaces and to de-tack adhesive residues. Apply one coat of PrimeCoat with a 3/8” nap roller as an even coat over the entire surface of the floor at a rate of 315 sf per gallon (1330 sf per pail). Allow the floor to dry completely after application.
