Sweep or dust mop your laminate, but never soak or use a wet mop. While the top wear layer is highly water-resistant to stand up to spills, the gaps between tiles are not. Wetting these can warp your floors and cause them to swell. Spills should be cleaned immediately when they happen using a clean, damp cloth to prevent moisture from soaking.

Prevent damage

Laminate is highly scratch-resistant, but you should still take care of it. Cover the feet of all furniture with felt pads to protect your laminate from dents and scratches. You should also keep pet nails trim.
